Sadly, Vinny had suffered in the past few years with a hernia. It was due to complications with this that he was admitted to hospital and sadly passed on the morning of 21st August at the age of 65. 65 years feels too brief a time to have had Vinny here with us, to be able to call him husband, father, son, and friend.   Vinny was working up to the day he was admitted to hospital in the family business, Granelli's Cafe. He took over the business when his father, Louis, passed away in 1978 from bowel cancer. Due to this, Vinny had always championed causes that aimed to help fight cancer. Vinny had identified Children with Cancer UK as one of the charities he wanted donations to, if anything should happen to him and these were collected at his funeral.
